In his spare time, Dr. Chuang enjoys listening to jazz music, watching basketball games, as well as oil painting.
Jerry Chuang, M.D. is a physiatrist certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Chuang specializes in pain medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and electrodiagnostic (NCS/EMG) testing. In addition to his work at the Spine and Pain Institute, he is a staff physician at Elite Medical Diagnostics Inc. Dr. Chuang provides evaluation and care for patiens with musculoskeletal, neural, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries. He has special interest in outpatient musculoskeletal medicine, conservative pain medical management, and electrodiagnostic testing (NCS/EMG). Dr. Chuang provides valuable insight in pain consultations, NCS/EMG consultations, and qualified medical examinations for patients suffering from work related injuries. He is certified and has worked as a qualified medical examiner for the Department of Workers Compensation, California. Dr. Chuang is also familiar with labor codes and practice guidelines for California Worker’s Compensation.
Dr. Chuang attended the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduation, he completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Chuang has contributed to various publications and research projects on topics regarding traumatic brain injury. He received the Education Research Fund New Investigator Award from the Foundation of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2006.
